Tour tomorrow! From 10am to 4pm we’ll have an open house as part of the “Small Spaces / Big Ideas” AIA tour. Stop by and say hi.
Over the last couple of days battens have gone on to hold our rain screen. The rain screen is still a little while out though, windows come first and they probably won’t be here for about another week. Today there were three little bits of progress. The first is that our basement door was installed. Its apparently very snug in its rough opening. Its white now, that will be changed with some paint somewhere down the line probably after major work has been completed. The second is that the basement window was finally cut out. Since early on it has been framed in place, but was covered over with OSB to keep the house more secure… Every step of the way we had to keep reminding people that it was there and eventually the bituthene membrane went over it, and then the battens were installed over it so we went in and reclaimed the window. And the third thing to happen today was the installation of our informational sign next to our basement door just in time for the tour. Below are a couple more pictures of the progress.

The inside of our basement with door and window in place.

Our bathroom walls framed out. The open wall on the close side will be built in shelving separating the bathroom and living / kitchen area.

Hello from Texas! The house looks great so far. Sounds like y’all are getting a good taste of the construction industry, enjoy it all you can! Looking forward to the finished product. Take care.
