Drywall and Texture

The siding on our first wall was completed today, but the big news is the drywall being completed. Everything was textured this morning and looks great not offensive. We had hoped to go with smooth walls, but ended up with textured after getting a few bids on the job and realizing that that smooth was several thousand dollars more than we can afford.

We also passed inspection on our steel which will go up soon (it needs to for us to get much further on the siding). We’ll be coordinating that with a soil delivery for our ecoroofs so that we can hoist the soil, which arrives in 1.5 cubic yard bags, with the crane while its on site anyways. On the inside, our painter will be coming out on Monday, flooring guys on Tuesday, then cabinets might be able to go in by the end of next week.

Update 11:26am 1-21-10: The more we sit with the texture, the less thrilled we are with it. ┬áSo our contractor is going to talk to them today to see if they might be able to retexture or something tomorrow, that way we don’t lose any time in our schedule. Hopefully we’ll be able to get them to put on a nice sandy/satiny texture as opposed to the lumpy stuff thats on our walls.
