Floors and an Open Studio

Flooring finally started getting installed today after a bunch of delays from the drywall issues and then recently, too much moisture in the subfloor. The schedule as it is now is for them to install today and tomorrow, then on Monday come in and finish it so that cabinets can come in on Tuesday.

Our lower ecoroof is close to done. The Ecoroofs Everywhere guys came and finished up the membrane and flashing on the curb that holds our soil in, and all our soil got leveled out so it could be used as a staging area for putting more siding up. Once we’re at a point where people aren’t going to be working on top of it any more we’ll come back and finish it up bu lining the edges with gravel, putting in a little patch of pavers and then planting. Also, our north wall is basically done now with the exception of the top most course of wood, painting windows and dealing with the siding around vents.

Open studio

We’ll be having an open studio tomorrow for first Friday.  Feel free to stop by, say hi, talk house any time between 6:00pm and 9:00pm.  We’re at 811 E Burnside #212, directly above the Grass Hut.

  1. Mind if I ask what products you used for your siding/floors?

  2. The siding is all unfinished clear FSC cedar 1x4s, and the flooring is tigerwood that we picked up at Ecohaus.

  3. I can’t find any mention of your contractor..are you doing it yourself? Looks great by the way.

  4. Our contractor is Tom Cullen with Citilites Builders. I’m a little embarrassed that we haven’t said who they are, because they’ve done a great job for us.
