Tomorrow we’ll be be at the Buckman Neighborhood Association general meeting talking about our house. If you would like to come out and talk about the house, or ask questions, or if you’re just interested in finding out what is going on with the neighborhood… Come out Thursday night 7pm at Buckman Elementary. Its been a little while since the last real update and there have been a bunch of little things that have gone on. Last Tuesday, Matt and I attended the open house for the new Community Center that Portland Parks & Recreation is proposing on the grounds of the vacant Washington High School. Although I became aware of the project only a few months ago, it has been in the works for 18 years. The committee presenting the process expects final designs to be submitted to the city in October. The timing of this conversation is especially serendipitous, as I – along with thousands of others – will soon converge at the vacant high school, which is serving as a hub for this year’s PICA’s 10 day tba festival.
