Today we got a delivery of all our ecoroof plants that we’re going to plant this weekend. Most of what we unloaded from the delivery van were flats of plants in pots… Our licorice ferns, coastal strawberries, camas, Oregon iris… But in terms of area covered, we got 35 pounds of assorted sedum cuttings (image above) that came in a couple of wet boxes. It was a busy weekend, and there is some chaos happening at the house… Most of it isn’t caused by us. Somehow we managed to decide to build a house at the same time and in the same neighborhood as most of the city’s big infrastructure projects. Read the rest of this entry »
It was a beautiful day today which facilitated a lot of progress on the outside of the house. Work was being done on the inside as well, but it involved sanding and finishing floors so I didn’t actually get much of a chance to go in to check it out. Read the rest of this entry »
Over the last couple of days, the main visible change on the house is that our deck is now framed out. That leaves just siding, our entry patio and the ecoroofs as the remaining exterior things to do. Read the rest of this entry »
